February 2013 Events

G said she made a flower.  I thought it was creative!

I thought this was a good picture of KC.  Can I just say how amazing I think he is.  He is so dedicated to his running.  All of January and a lot of February has been really cold and snowy and he has had a hard time going out to run.  This day he went out and when he got back his hair had frost on it.  He gets up early most mornings and runs an outrageous amount of miles.  I just know I couldn't do it so I compensate by making fun of him but it's really because I admire his dedication and persistence so much! He has been running 5K's, 10K's, and going on to a half marathon.

K was a designer for BYU's first ever fashion show.  She had, I think, 9 designs and they were all soooo good!  C was one of her models.  I'm so proud of all that K does and she is so talented and creative when it comes to designing clothes.  This was a dream come true for her and she is hoping to have many more opportunitites.

Because KC loves candy so much I made him this card for Valentine's Day.

This is my Valentine's Day from KC.  Chocolate covered strawberries.  But he made them himself!!! Wow! This man never ceases to amaze me.  I'm a lucky girl!

In February we get to celebrate my dad's birthday!  I admire and love my Papi very much!  One of the things that I love about him is how he always keeps us laughing.  He is just funny cause he doesn't really care about celebrating his birthday so we always almost have to force him to celebrate!  Once we celebrate he has fun! Like in these pictures of him dancing while we sing happy birthday to him!  Never a dull moment when Papi is around!

One of CR's meet this month was in Colorado Springs, CO at the Olympic training center.  He got to compete where Olympic gymnasts compete!  How awesome is that!  He even got to meet John Orozco from the 2012 men's gymnastic's team.

The training center has all of these inspiring quotes all  around and I just took pictures so I could remember them.  I love quotes that speak of happiness because after all "men are that they might have joy."

Because it was in Colorado Springs we were able to drive to Cheyenne pick up mom and dad and drive down with them.  We spent the night with dad's cousin and then we went to the meet in the morning.  We had them training for the Olympics :)

This is our team for the trip.  C had school and S had a dance company trip in Park City.  Be we were lucky that K could join us.

CR is super strong!!!

That night Jenner (nephew, cousin) was opening his mission call in Provo we were all watching him live in Cheyenne.  He got called to serve in Peru.  He leaves July 3.

G and Crimson had fun playing dress up.

Free Zoo day.  Z and I took the little ones to have a fun day together.  Mami and Papi joined is for the freezing fun day!

G looses #3 and #4 teeth.

January 2013 Events

I get so far behind and then all I can do to keep up is to write a month at a time.  January is kind of a slower month anyways but these are a few of our activities.

CR with his gymnastics team.  They won second place (I think) as a team.

Just a cute picture.  She's growing up so fast that I just have to throw random pictures in.

S with the simple machine that she built for Physics.  She pulled her first all-nigher.  And she and KC did not like it at all!!! It was a good machine it's just not something that can be left to do on the day before it's due.

At the school where I work.  All of the students had the opportunity to attend the Sundance Film Festival.  We walked all of the students the the Egyptian Theatre and we watched the film "Linsanity".  I thought it was a wonderful show about determination and hard work.

I asked CR on Sunday during family council if he was participating the in the spelling bee at the school the next day.  He said he wasn't going to.  He won 2nd place in district last year and he was happy with that.  Well the next day about lunch time he texts me and tells me that he decided to do the class bee for extra credit and he won so he was going to just participate in the school's bee.  Then he said he wasn't going to do it.  Anyways we went back and forth a few times.  But to make long story short he won the school's spelling bee (second year in a row).

This kid is just an amazing speller!

Record low temperatures make January coldest month since 1949.

Just had to throw that in here because it was so cold for so long and we got so much snow that we had like 5 foot piles of snow from shoveling our driveway.  I wish I would have taken a picture.  Here are a few pictures just to show what the month looked like for us:

A New Year

December 31, 2012

For New Year's Eve this year we decided to go downtown and have some fun!  Before that we went to Cafe Rio for dinner and we had our very own private room. It was like 10 degrees so being outside was not too fun.  We pretty much ran from building to building.

I think Taye is trying to be like Mami R?

After freezing downtown we came to our house to watch a movie and wait for midnight.  The M's spent the night and so the fun continued in the morning.

Happy New Year 2013!!!

G 6th Birthday

December 27, 2012

My baby can't be 6??? Where has the time gone?

She truly makes the whole family complete!  She is so much younger than the rest of the kids that we all just love her curiosity and fun of life!

For her birthday she wanted to go to the Treehouse Museum with her cousins.  Her day would not be fully enjoyed without her cousins!  So that's what we did!

G with her grandma R.
They played for hours and hours together.

 Playing school.

After the Treehouse we went to Burger King (G's choice) to eat and play some more.  It was so crazy cause I called they told me that they did something special for the birthday kid.  They didn't say what that was but it didn't really matter just that she was recognized as being the birthday girl. When we got there we asked and they were all confused and didn't know what to do so after all the confusion they brought out full size sundays for all 12 of us!

 Opening presents at Burger King.
Opening presents at home:
It was kind of a long day and she was tired.
But she woke up to open presents!!!

Happy Birthday Precious Cutie!!!
