Work

I guess I haven’t written for a while since I started working again. I quit my job when I had G. I was a little worried about our finances cause I had been working ever since we moved into the new house. I really liked my job but my precious G is so much more important!! So we had to do some adjusting in our budget. We have been fine but I decided that we needed some more money for extra things like Christmas or finishing our basement.

To make a long story short… I looked for a few days and then this office assistant job at a Day Care came up. I applied and I got it. I work M-F 6am to 9am. It’s perfect for now. Only a few hours in the morning and G can come with me. KC brings her to me at about 8am when he goes to work. So she gets to play for 1 hour. It’s nice because I still have the rest of my day to be MOM. Eventually I want to be able to do something from home but for now this is great!

12.Who takes out the garbage? I take it out of the garbage and he usually takes it out.

20. Who is most stubborn? I depends, but I give in a lot easier than he does. He has this need to always be right and he is most of the time.

21. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? mostly him, although I am working on it.

22. Whose parents do you see the most? mine, but his parents come out to visit often

25. Who has more friends? We have the same friends!

26. Who has more siblings? there are eight kids in his family, so that is double the amount in mine.

27. Who wears the pants in the family? We both do!

Nutcracker

It's that time again!!! This is our 7th year doing the Nutcracker. WOW are we crazy or what? Saturday was audition day. This is such a stressful day because if someone doesn't make it... Well you know it's bad. Well we got lucky and they all made it. C even got a "Clara callback"! We were so excited! She set a goal for herself to get called back and she did!

Then we had to wait until Tuesday night to find out what parts we got... We always have to wait over the weekend. Well, C did not make Clara but she is an "Oriental Servant". (But getting a Clara callback is such a compliment as it is) K is a "Lady in Waiting". S got the awesome part of "party girl" and CR, who tried out because he is now 8, without any dance experience is a party boy. (They always need boys!)

So for the next few months Nutcracker practices is what we will be doing on Saturdays!

S Birthday

Happy Birthday! We always have birthdays on the busiest days of the year. Or maybe we are always busy?

S went to school and then she has ballet. Today we get to sign up for Nutcracker auditions again! Because we don't have enough craziness in our lives. CR is even trying out this year. They love boys to try out even if they don't dance. And then tonight is the back to school night at the Junior High.

So we will probably end up opening presents at 10:00pm and celebrating on the weekend. I think S will invite some friends over on Friday. She also wants to go out to eat with her family.

S is a wonderful daughter. She is kind of quiet when it comes to conversation but she loves to laugh. She will say random things that we are not expecting and then we all crack up. She loves her family and her blankie!!! I don't think necessarily in that order.

Labor Day

We went on our annual "camping trip". We have been doing it for 6 years now and we camp with 5 other families. We all have kids about the same ages and so it's a fun time to be together. There are only 2 families left in the Clearfield Ward, the rest of us have moved. We want to keep up the tradition though!! Our original reservation did not work out so we ended up camping at the Percival's. The adults were on beds in the house and the kids camped in the back yard. We left on Friday night. We had dinner and just caught up with everything that we all have been doing.

On Saturday we went to the Farmer's Market, the American West Heritage Center (it was the last day and it seemed like they were shutting down), and then to the Hyrum Dam. We had a canooe and a wave runner that we all had fun riding. The kids of course had a great time in the muddy water. At night it's tradition to go out for pizza so we went to Firehouse Pizza. We came home afterwards because Casey had church duties on Sunday.

We went back up on Sunday night, we had already eaten dinner but they had not so we ate a little again. We were camping so calories don't count!

Monday we got up really late (9:00am). We went to bed late so we were all really tired. We were supposed to meet Z and my parents but since we got up so late and still had to make breakfast and clean up, we told them to go ahead and go without us and we would meet them later. Well, they misunderstood what I said and they were waiting for us, while we took our sweet old time. Then Papi called and said that since it was so late, that we didn't need to come so we went to the park and rode the canooe a little longer. Sometimes we try to fit too much into one day and we love being with family but also we friends. We just kind of hung out at the park and talked. Sometimes it's nice to just relax. Then we drove home and made steak tacos (since we could not find a stand).

The First Day of School

School started today and the house is very quiet. Gracie is sleeping. K is a junior, I'm worried she will be gone before I know it. C is in 8th grade. S in 6th and CR in 3rd. Thank goodness for my baby that still has a while at home. My SIL gave me the idea to make cookies for when they come home. I think I will.

We all got back to school blessings last night. We have an awesome father and husband. He gave us all the best advice and counsel!

I went to the Elementar School with S and CR for the flag ceremony. Mr Hasset sang the National Anthem and it was very touching. The kids lined up with their teachers and we waved good bye. The first day of school brings with it many mixed feelings.

Lagoon

I forgot that we went to Lagoon on the 14th. It was Family Lagoon Days since K works there so we got in for really cheap. Z and family came with us. I am glad they live close by and we can do so many fun things together. We swam and then went on rides. It was really fun so here are a couple of pictures from that day.

Last few days of Summer Vacation

Let's backtrack for a minute. Sunday we celebrated C's birthday at my parents house. We had Chicken Divan (Carina loves broccolli), and cheesecake. C wanted a pinata so C and S made one on Saturday and finished it on Sunday morning. It looked wonderful and it was a fun messy experience!

Our RS did a service auction and I got the use of a private pool for the night. So we decided that we needed to use it before school started and before it got cold (I'm not sure if it will get cold this fall... we have had record heat all summer). Z and family came along. We had a great FHE time together. The pool was wonderful and we got to BBQ. So that is what we did on Monday.

Tuesday we had to finalize everything for school. K and C had piano in the morning and then we went to the open house at the school in the afternoon. We got to meet the teachers and they were really nice and I think it will be a good year. KC had to stay late at work because a server crashed on him and he had stayed up really late the night before! That's what happens when you work for the school district right before school starts.

C's Birthday

We now have another teenager in our family. I hope we can handle it! We love her though. She is so loving and kind.

We haven't done too much today because we are waiting for K to get back from Education Week. She has been down there since Tuesday with her friend Kellie. Grandma and Grandpa were their drivers and care takers. We are so happy that they were willing to help us out!

C babysat this morning and she has ballet later on. We will go out to Teriyaki Stix for dinner afterwards and then open presents!! She wants to celebrate tomorrow by going to see Hairspray and popcorn of course. She will have her party on Sunday.

Just a little about C. She is a wonderful daughter, sister and friend. Everyone just loves her so much. She loves to spend time with her family. She is a great ballet and jazz dancer. She doesn't like Algebra too much but she is going to try hard this year to get an A in the class. She likes to write poems and she is very good at it. Her current interests are Speed Stacks and Club Penguin. At the moment she and S are making a pinata for her party on Sunday. She is very creative and her siblings are always looking to her for new ideas.

KC Birthday Week

On Saturday we celebrated KC birthday. We had strawberry shortcake and huevos rancheros for breakfast. KC conducted for a baptism. We kind of just relaxed all day and it was good cause we needed it! We went out to eat that night as a family (minus K since she was on the river run).

On Sunday we celebrated with the "relatives" (as the kids call them). We had fish tacos for dinner and a very chocolate cake.

Ballet begins this week and so we are back to the driving back and forth. C and S were debating about switching to doing more modern dancing like jazz and hip hop but after some thinking they decided to stick with ballet and jazz at the same studio for another year.

The kids had piano lessons on tuesday. It was much needed since they haven't had one since June cause it has been so busy.

Jef and family came in late on Wednesday night and stayed with us until Saturday morning. They were gone to Provo all day thursday and friday J&M went to the SL Temple and the kids hung out with us. It was Jenner's bday so we celebrated that night with pizza, cake and bowling.
