History Fair

CR at the district History Fair.  His topic was The Lightbulb.  The thing he liked most about it was that he got to miss school to go to the fair and then just come home.  He got a Superior.

King Tut

The Spectrum Play this year was called "Hubbub On the Bookshelf II"  CR had the part of the narrator and King Tut.  He did such a good job!  We always enjoy watching him on stage!

District Spelling Bee 2010

I'm a little behind again...

This is while we were waiting for the Bee to begin.  You would think he would be studying words or be really nervous or something.  No.. he is reading the comics!

CR participated in the District Spelling Bee and he made it to the top 7 this year.  A big improvement from last year when he got out on the first round.  His goal was to at least make it through 3 rounds and he did much better than that.

The words at the end were extremely hard.  Some of the words were:  Corgi, Impetous, Supplementary, and  Holloplankton.  (Disclaimer:  Some of these words may not be spelled correctly!)

Next year he is determined to go to Nationals in Washington DC!

Papi's Birthday.  We love living close to parents and grandparents so that we can celebrate together.  I love my dad so much!  He is such a good example of love, perseverance, and hard work.

BYU Basketball game.  It had been a long time since we have been to one of these. Now that K is there we have a good excuse to go more often.  They have an awesome winning record this season.  Go Cougars!

Region Spelling Bee

Once again CR participated in the Spelling Bee and made it on to the next level.  These are the words he had to spell.  District is in March!

January Events

No picture of this but CR won his school Spelling Bee once again and will go on to the next level in February.  I'm glad he won but I hope my nerves can handle it!!

We participated in a service project at BYU on Martin Luther King's Day.  It was great because we got the whole family involved including K. 

Some of us made dress up tutus for a shelter.

Some made fishing kits.

We also decided that we want to make this a tradition and do some type of service on this day as a family.

Cultural Plunge

For my multicultural class I had to do a cultural plunge.  This is something that puts me out of my conforts zone and experience what other may experience.  I decided to go to another church to see what it was like.  C and I went to the Alpine Church.  It is a completely different church that what I am used to.  They have a rock band and everyone sings along.  They have a preacher and he taught about Jonah and the whale.  I was glad to have this assignment because it gave me the opportunity to see that other churches teach good things.  And that those that attend are just trying to be better. 




On Friday night they had a sing along type meeting and KC came with me this time.

This class taught me a lot about myself!

New Years Eve 2009

We went to see a movie and then out to eat with the cousins and the grandparents.  Then we came home and played games until midnight!

The boys and the girls always sit at different tables.  But G just loves CR.

Sledding

Our Texas cousins had never been sledding so we had to go.  It was so cold but they kids had a blast!

The adults had lots of fun too!!!
