We decided to take a special trip to celebrate our silver anniversay. We had originally decided to go to China but when Alex and Courtney announced that they were getting married in May we decided to look at other options so that we could do both. We found this amazing deal on flights from New York to Italy so we decided to go to Italy then our way back go to Boston before coming home. I think we made an awesome choice.
We took a red-eye flight on April 28 to NYC. Our flight to Milan, Italy did not leave until the next day at 8pm so we got to spend the day in New York. We had heard about this Stardust Dinner and since we needed breakfast we decided to go there to eat. It's a cute diner where the servers randomly break out into song. It was a fun way to start our day.
After that we got on a hop-on-hop-off bus to the Statue of Liberty. The bus took so long cause there was so much traffic that we thought we would miss our entrance but we had no problems getting in. And it was actually awesome that we had tickets cause we skipped all of the lines.
Perianne gave us a selfie-stick and this was our first experience with it with many more to come.
This is a replica of the statue's head in actual size. It's huge!
After the Statue of Liberty we took the subway to Central Park and just walked around a little bit. We were looking for the Waffle Truck but we were not able to find it. We didn't have too much time because we had to get back to the airport to catch our flight.
Distance walked today 8.6 miles or 20,485 steps.
