Last day in Guatemala with everyone. We got a hostel for our last two nights stay. Mainly because it was close to the airport and they could shuttle us there since we all left early on Sunday morning and at different times. It was a nice hostel though and in a pretty safe area.
Waiting for breakfast. |
The rooftop of the hostel. |
Zildy and I, Mami Rosario behind us, and Carina :) |
Crazy bus! |
The capital: Guatemala City |
We had to make a quick stop at the temple and to see if we could deliver the missionary package. |
We should have taken a family picture here but I forgot and everyone was ahead of us so we just got the three of us. |
Mercado Central |
El Palacio Nacional |
We found this nice place to eat called Panaderia Berna |
Music was playing on the streets and so Derick and Cat decided to join and dance :) |
The following pictures are of our house in Guatemala. This area was just grass when we lived there. The renters started building this little side room but left it unfinished when they moved out. |
Our bedroom as kids |
The family/dining room area. |
The kitchen. The appliances go next to the sink against the wall. I have no idea why they are not there? |
This is outside of the kitchen. It's called a "pila" and it is where laundry was done by hand. |
My siblings :) |
Gathering outside because my dad was moping the floor so that we left it clean. |
This was a good place for my mom to share a memory. |
And Derick because he wasn't driving. |
I'm so happy Kailee got to join us in this trip. She has been multiple times before but I really wanted the whole family together for this trip so we asked her to join us. |
The kids always playing games or something |
The outside of the house. Most houses have to have these big walls as fences and protection from the outside. It is very common for thieves to break into houses so this is how they keep them out. |
We didn't go to church in Guatemala City this time but we had to show the kids where we went to church when we lived there. |
Outside of Chepe's house. We were going to all have dinner together. |
Mami Rosario helping to cook in the kitchen. |
We don't get to see our Guatemala family often but we got together this time and it was fun! Chepe is my mom's brother, Ileana is his wife. Their kids are: Tonito, Julio, and Paty. |
Sidney with one of her missionary companions that was from Guatemala. She came to the city from pretty far to see her. |
Back at the hostel for one last night. |
