Cheyenne 2008-09

We had planned to leave early so we could get to Cheyenne asap but there was a snow storm the night before. Lucky for us! Part of the interstate in Wyoming was closed so we had to wait.

We went and had breakfast at Gandolfo's. We checked the road conditions. Still closed. We had packed the night before so we were complety ready! Well at about 10am the roads opened so we left. We had to use chains for part of the way so our drive was a little longer than usual but we made it safe and sound at about 6:30pm.

While there we hung out and watched movies, talked, played, and ate.

We went shopping to Denver.

We got to have dinner with Uncle Tron.

We went Ice Skating.

We celebrated G birthday (separate post).

We played games.

We took cousin pictures. Always a must!

The teenagers went to a dance.

We had many wonderful meals by grandma and grandpa. We love being in Cheyenne!

Christmas Day

We got up to see what Santa left. We always make the kids wait a few minutes and talk about things just for fun!

G got a baby doll that coos and asks for "mama" with a car seat.

We all got Rock Band, Wii Fit, and some Nerf Darts.

We had our breakfast of German pancakes and Buttermilk Syrup and then we opened family gifts. Gifts for 7 people really add up.

After playing for a while we went to the Manuel's for a Cajun dinner made by Jonas. We did our white elephant gift exchange that no one stole anything (no fun). The kids had fun playing with their new toys.

Tayeveon felt bad that he did not participate in the Christmas Eve program so he danced for us on the table.

Shayden and CR went to DS world for a long time.

Then we went home to pack so we could go to Cheyenne the next day.

Christmas Eve 2008

We spent Christmas at home with my parents and the Manuels.

We took a family picture (must be done every year)!

Christmas Eve we had our traditional Guatemalan Paches. Ohh, so good.

We had our traditional Christmas Program put on by the kids


We had to take my dad's traditional funny picture.



And we opened presents. G loved her hat and gloves from her grandparents!



Then the kids got dressed in their Christmas pj's from Grandma Judy. G had already gone to bed.

Carina had a Christmas Orchestra Concent but I have not pictures so here she is in the snow.

CR had a chimes concert for Spectrum.
CR's choir concert. He had an amazing solo.

S had a band concert.

Thanksgiving

We had the most of KC's family over for Thanksgiving. It was a little crazy but lots of fun. The kids just played and played and we just cooked, cleaned, and talked. Z and her family was with us also. We are grateful for all our family!!

Carrie Underwood Concert

For K's birthday she got tickets to the Carrie Underwood Concert. Let it be known that she said it was the best present ever! So we both went and had a blast. It was an awesome concert. How we fit this in during Nutcracker I don't know but I guess we just love K so much!

Dinosaur Cake

A friend asked me to make a cake for her son's birthday party. She said he liked dinosaurs so I did a little research and found a few ideas online. This is the final result.

While I was at the grocery store with G looking for stuff for the cake. They gave her a chocolate cookie. Well she was quiet for a while but then I had to come home and clean her up.

After I made the cake. I could not keep her away from it. She thought it was the best thing ever! She kept laughing and trying to touch it!

Halloween

The kids were out of school because of the end of the term. So we decided to go see High School Musical 3 in the afternoon. btw It was very good!!

This set us back a little cause we were not quite ready with all of the costumes. We came home and had 5 minutes before the ward's trunk or treat, so it was a mad dash to get everyone ready. But we made it! At the truck or treat the older girls handed out candy. CR dashed around and got done really fast. KC and I went around with G. She was so cute and once she got the hang of it nothing was going to stop her from getting candy.

After the trunk or treat, the older girls went out with their friends and KC and I took CR and G to some homes. It was a different Halloween but I think that is because the kids are getting older. We are used to doing all of this stuff together as a family.

S was a good fairy and also little red riding hood for a while.

C was an evil fairy.

K only dressed up for the Halloween dance at the school and she was a ghost.
