Guatemala - Antigua - July 21, 2018

Everyone finally made it to the hotel during the night, and we were ready to go on Saturday morning...

Breakfast time :)

And here's our "bus"

First on the agenda was going zip-lining

Here we go on our way to the top of the mountain

Gracie was so brave!

The cute truck that got us up the mountain!

Not sure what's going on here but everyone's faces???

For some reason the kids wanted to get on top of the bus?

After zip-lining we walked around Antigua. There were so many of us that we could just cross the street and the buses stopped for us :)

Lunch time! The kids and grandparents table.

The parents table (Casey probably took this picture).

Tortrix time!
Mami Rosario and Papi Otto dancing to marimba.

Sidney and Papi Otto dancing to marimba.

After doing some shopping we found a taco place to eat at called Mariachi's Taco Shop. We took up the entire second level. The few extra people there left once we go there.

El Arco de Santa Catalina

We had to get some ice cream for dessert!

Guatemala - Getting there - July 19-20, 2018

Two years ago when we went to Guatemala we planned on going two years later because we needed go with Carina and Sidney after their missions. So the planning began in early 2018. We decided on a date. We ended up with nineteen of us. So here we are on another epic adventure!

We began our trip from home with Carina, Gracie, CR and us. We flew out of Las Vegas because it was less than half the price to fly from there rather than Salt Lake.

We picked up Kailee along the way in SLC...

And then picked up Brianna and Sidney in Provo. Packed car but ready for an adventure.

We got to Vegas early so that we could walk around Vegas before our flight. Well, we deiced that wasn't the best idea because we were all so tired and it was so, so, so hot there! Like 110 degrees! But by the time we decided this it was too late so we might as well enjoy our time there!

Swans made out of flowers at the Bellagio!!!

It's always fun with these people!

After sweating to death, we were finally on our flight to Mexico City.

We had a long overnight layover so we decided to go to an inexpensive hotel to sleep for a few hours. We thought we would be able to walk there because it looked like it was really close on the map but once we got there we realized that it was not walk-able cause it was on the other side of the airport. So we had to get a taxi for all eight of us. Luckily we got one and the taxi driver was really nice and offered to pick us up in the morning and bring us back to the airport.
Our hotel was a little sketchy but it was only for one night and we were only sleeping for like four hours so it worked.
Waiting at the airport for our flight to Guatemala.
We made it to Guate!!!

The hotel had a shuttle to Antigua. We took that because Derick would pick up the "bus" and they didn't get in until later that night.

Colegio Italiano (where I went to elementary school in Guatemala)

Ready to explore Antigua

We went on hike to Cerro de la Cruz

Beautiful view of the volcano and the city.

This little girl was the cutest!

Ahh my family! I can't believe that we all made it together! Such a happy time!!!

After the hike we got Pollo Campero for dinner, walked around the town a little bit and went back to our hotel. To meet up with the rest of our tour group.
