April Fools & General Conference 2020

General Conference is different this weekend because no one can gather together. So it's just us at home (no Sunday Dinner). And even all the general authorities can't gather, the only people that were there were those that are speaking and they were all sitting six feet apart.

Ready with our General Conference Gifts
I don't even know where I read this but I thought it was pretty awesome!

Below are just some quotes that I found inspiring during General Conference. I love General Conference! It's always such an uplifting time for me! I feel like I need it to remind me of the many blessing that I have and all of the blessings that can be mine if I am obedient and keep the commandments.

In between sessions we went for a walk because we sat for way too long!

Social distancing walk

This was posted by the church and we can be seen!!! We were there during the filming and it was a happy day!

Kim was in our stake. She lost her long battle to cancer in February! She was an inspiration to all that came in contact with her!
Even with all her struggles she was so strong!

A historic General Conference! I'm glad I got to participate!

April Fools

Zildy always celebrates April Fools. This year since we were under quarantine, they decided to do a picnic in our backyard! We had no idea! We were just home and then I saw this post on Facebook!!! And I was like what??? That looks like our yard! so I looked out the window and there they were!

It was hilarious and it made our day!

We also made our first Tik Tok

Since it was Spring Break, Casey decided to clean the house windows! And he looked so cute! So I had to take a picture!

March 2020

Before going to Boston, everything was normal. There was talk of the Coronavirus but everything was open like normal. There was a lot of concern overseas but not in the US. There were a few cases being discovered in WA. We were told to be careful and wash our hands well and not touch our faces. I went back to work on Tuesday, and on Wednesday night they discovered that one of the Jazz players had Covid19 so they cancelled the jazz game. Everything spiraled down from here! People started buying toilet paper and water like crazy! And everyone stocked up on food! On Thursday, schools were told to cancel all after school activities. On Friday March 13th, they decided to have a soft school closure which meant that students would be learning from home with online directions from teachers. School staff could still work from the school but no students. We did this for two days, and then they told everyone that could work from home to work from home to avoid further spread. And so that's when we started working from home and Gracie started doing home school. Kailee had already moved home so she started working from home after a few days also. Carina and Sidney were to finish out the semester (and their degrees) online. Sidney was able to get out of her contract and came home. Carina stayed in Orem because she was working and Spencer was there. Cee Ryle is still working his same shifts as a tutor and even managed to get a second job with Mathnasium so he has been training for that. We've had to be creative and try and stay busy. So here are a few things that we did.

Lots of yummy breakfasts!

We had our last Sunday Dinner for now, and it was a good one because it was Zuri's 7th Birthday! And we all love Zuri so we went all out. She requested a Frozen cake. At this time we were advised to only gather in groups of 20 or less. We took advantage of it by gathering three times this week!

She was even wearing an Elsa dress

Olaf jello :)

The older men playing arcade games! haha too cute!

Kailee got Zuri a tent! And she loved it!

Watching the movie Frozen

He got called to the Mexico, Veracruz Mission. Leaving July 17, 2020
We were cutting it close but we got one last picture before we had to socially distance ourselves.

Tuesday we had one last gathering. Cedric got his mission call and he opened it here and we had dinner together.

I'm so proud for Cedric! He will be a great missionary!

Kailee making peg dolls
In the middle of all this Coronavirus pandemic, WE HAD AN EARTHQUAKE! Wow! It didn't cause too much damage but it sure scared us! The trumpet of the Angel Moroni fell off with the earthquake!

Just examples of the stuff going around.

We had planned a Selena night a few weeks back. We all love the movie Selena and we wanted to see it all together. Zuri was bored so Zildy played Twister with her!

The kids planning a dungeons and dragons game.

Buster so cute and fluffy!

We were advised not to gather so I had to update my decor :(

On Saturday, since all we could do was hang out with our own family, we went to Barnes Park and went on a walk and played volleyball together.

Then we came home and made rellenitos (a Guatemalan treat)

They started sending all the missionaries home from foreign countries but the families in Utah could not stay away!
I love this picture because all of the missionaries coming home were watched over by angels.
Since our stake had so many missionaries coming home. They set up flags to welcome them home. We also went out to the street and welcomed them home as they drove in. This was their homecoming.

Shayden had a virtual concert!

Gracie worked on a Young Women Challenge

We went to see a movie but only 10 people were allowed in the theater. Social distancing at it's finest!

This was in 2001. We were supposed to be in Washington DC for Spring Break but our plans were thwarted. So just for memories sake I added this picture.

We made delicious Kneaders french toast for breakfast!

Gracie practiced making balloons.

I started making some masks to donate.

Cleaned out books
Went on walks with Buster

Cee Ryle made us ramen for dinner

It's been a weird, eventful month! Nothing like anything any of us have ever experienced. We have stayed busy doing stuff but we just have to be isolated. Church has been cancelled for now. We do the sacrament and Come Follow Me at home. We only go out to go on walks or to buy necessities.
