Weekend in NYC

Perks of having your sister work of Jet Blue is that every once in a while we get to go on random trips to NYC! This time Zildy texted me on Friday to tell me that they were going to NYC and that the flight looked good for flying standby. So we thought about it for a few minutes and decided to go! Why not? It had been a while since we had been to NYC during Christmas time :)

When you take the red eye flight you need to sing in the shower!

We took the train to the city and met Derick, Cat, and Ellie there. We had some breakfast and then walked over to see the temple

Sacrament meeting was going so we went in the hallway and listened for a little bit. This is the stroller parking lot!

They had beautiful paintings on the walls. I love how you can go anywhere in the world and still feel the beautiful Spirit in the building!

The next stop was Central Park!

It was a beautiful day to walk around the park! A little cool but bearable!

Westfield World Trade Center

Rockefeller Center

First stop on Monday was the Macy's Department store!

Grand Central Station

Times Square

We got to go hear some actual Broadway actors at the Shops at Columbus Circle.

The dads left before us because they needed to go get the luggage that we left at the hotel. Zildy and I and the kids stayed and we were to get on the subway and meet at the airport. Well, because it was rush hour the trains were all full. We had to pass a few of them. When we finally got on we realized after a little while that we were going the wrong direction. AHHH so we had to get off but by then we didn't have enough time to get on the subway and still make it to the airport on time. So we had to get an Uber. The only problem was that there were 7 of us and no cars were big enough. Oh well, we got on and the driver either didn't notice or didn't care. He was a good New York driver and got us there just in time! So that was the stressful time of the trip but it all worked out!

Fun impromptu weekend!
