Pumpkin Carving

This is our traditional FHE for the monday before Halloween.

Here's everyone at work.  I'm the photographer (of course).

These are the final results from youngest to oldest...
G works really hard by being cute.

Daddy helps (more like does what she asks for) her make Tigger.
G liked her tigger pumpkin but when she saw mine she said she wanted that one to be her's instead (typical 3 year old) so we had to take a picture of both.

What else do you expect from an 11 year old boy?

S has always loved Hello Kitty.

She wasn't too happy with her pumpkin she says she messed up witht he mouth but I think she's a great artist.

C with a great big smile.  She didn't even use a pattern.

This is the extent of my ability and love of carving pumpkins.

KC with his pumkin after helping everyone else.

The final results.

Elmo?

10-10-10 at about 10:10

I don't know what this is?? Something crazy S came up with and does with G.  She lifts her up and says Elmo...Elmo...  I don't know but it just proves that my kids are pretty wacko!

And I cound't just take a picture of S and G.  C and CR had to get in the picture also.  More proof!

Primary Program

October 24, 2010

This primary program was bittersweet for me.  It was G first time but CR's last.
G loves her big brother.  He is her closest sibling after all.  I'm glad she has got him to look up to because he is a great example to her.

G didn't want to stay up there at first but with a little help from her teacher she was just fine.  I love to watch these little ones because they are so proud to be up in front of everyone and love to show off the songs that they have learned.

"I can follow Jesus by being revernt." This was her speaking part.

CR had the concluding remarks for the entire program.  He gave thanks to the teachers, parents, and leaders for all their help and for teaching them correct principles.  He worked hard that morning memorizing his part and did a great job.  He was a little upset with himself because he forgot a couple of the words and had to look down at his paper.  That's a normal occurance when you have something memorized and you are nervous because there are 500 people watching.  He's such a perfectionist.  I think he did amazing!

Because it's Ladies Night...

September 25, 2010

My favorite and only sister is always finding fun bonding activities for us and this one was no exception.  (First of all every time you read the title you must sing the song "Because it's Ladies Night...and the feeling's right...oh what a night!" by Kool and the Gang.)

We drove down to this fun pampering night together and got to eat dinner, get our hair and nails done, do some shopping, make and eat some truffles, and many more fun activities.  But most of all we had a fun time together.  I love my little sister!

Just in case you can't tell... the short smily one is my cute sister.

And just in case you can't tell... I was flirting with the guards but I got nothing back so I'll stick with KC! I get a much better response from him!

Eagle Court of Honor

September 17, 2010

This is a family that we have known for a very long time and we are good friends.  Their 2nd oldest son earned the rank of Eagle Scout and we were priviliged to be able to attend.

CR got to help with the lighting ceremony and he felt so important.  Steven is a great example for CR.

This is a picture of Steven and some of the men from our previous ward.  C and Crystal (Steven's Sister) budged into the picture.  What great memories.

K's 19th Birthday

October 3, 2010

Ahh, this hug explains how we all feel about our K!!! We were so glad to have her home for the weekend and celebrate this special day with her.

We drove down to pick her up and to eat at Brick Oven. The pizza was yummy and we had a fun time.  It was our family and KC's parents.  We drove two cars so that C could have some driving practice on the drive down.  And there was a lot of traffic and construction so it was a looong drive.

Saturday night we had a girl's night (with CR) while KC and his dad went to priesthood.  We went to Tai Pan and bought some fun stuff and to Target.  Then we met the dad's at Cold Stone for ice cream!

Sunday we watched conference and had K's family party.

She's obsessed with Carrie Underwood so we got her a pillowcase.

I always make the kids a special cake that they request for their birthday.  This year K wanted either a Carrie Underwood cake or a ballerina cake.  So I combined them all by putting a Carrie Underwood mask on a ballerina on top of the cake.  I thought it was pretty cleaver and I think she liked it!

How luck we are to have parents and grandparents close enough to see them often.

A Mulan Barbie... How old is K anyways?

It was a great party!!!

Nutcracker Parts 2010

September 14, 2010

It's Nutcracker season again.  I know we are kind of addicted to it! But it's a good thing.  They kids love performing so much and it gives them a good opportunity.  The friendships that they make with their cast members are priceless.  It's so hard to make it sometimes because the competition is tough but we got lucky this year and they all made it!

C is a Waltz

S is a Snow

CR is Fritz

CR only does nutcracker and does not take dance but they let boys audition even if they don't go to the school because they need a few of them.  CR has done it for a few years and has wanted the part of Fritz for a while but we were not sure if he would ever get it but he must have had a good audition this year!

Pictures of them will have to come later.  Just wanted to record their parts.  And if anyone wants tickets you know who sells them.

S's 14th Birthday

September 5, 2010
S's birthday was on Sunday this year and since it's always close to Labor day.
Oh, how the little girls love to help open presents.  Cute cousin J is so sweet and will wrap up something special to her and give it to the birthday person.

She requested two different ice cream cakes.  This is a mint chocolate cake.

This is a chocolate fudge ice cream cake.

She did request the procession this year.

The kiddos are anxiously waiting for their slice of cake.
Having yogurt on Labor Day.

Happy Birthday to S! We love her so much. It's kind of hard to get her to share much with us but she is getting better the older she gets. She's an amazing cook and we tease her about being our "lunch lady".

First Day of School

August 23, 2010
First day of Preschool for G. She was soooo excited to say the least. She's attending at the same place where I work but she had the whole summer off and now it meant moving to the Preschool Class.

CR's first day as a 6th grader. This is my baby boy! How can he be going to 6th grade?

S is our 9th grade cheerleader.

C is our junior in HS, member of the school's Dance Company and hopefully soon to be driving herself (once she completes all of her practice driving hours).

This is K.  Our 2nd year college student who is a senior.  What a smart and cute girl.  She didn't actually go back to school till Wednesday because she wanted to stay home for her sister's birthday.

This is just a random picture of me because I'm continuing to go to school to get my masters in school counseling.

C's 16th Birthday

August 24, 2010

This is our beautiful 16 year old!
(Yes, I'm a little behind updating the blog but at least I still update every once in a while.)

On Saturday we (family and friends) planned a surprise birthday party for her.  Her friends took her to see a movie while we decorated and got ready for her.  She was completely surprised she did not expect a thing.  Till she got to the front door and her friends kept telling her to go in first.  We had some pizza and cake and they played all kinds of crazy games.

This is her surprise party chocolate cake.
For some reason (16 year old) she kept laughing and could not blow out the candles on her cake?!
This was her requested cake.  (We have this tradition that the birthday person gets to request what kind of cake they want for their birthday. They have come up with some pretty interesting ones!) This one is a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and decorated with extreme sour belts (C's favorite).
Celebration with the family.
Her actual birthday was on a busy school day so we took the presents in the car while we drove to Nicklecade for just a little bit of family fun on her actual birthday.
It wasn't very busy and that made it nice for our family.

We just love having C in our family.  And we can't believe that she is 16 and can now drive and date. She's a wonderful person, very caring and loving towards everyone including fish!
