25th Anniversary - Day 4 - Venice to Rome (May 2, 2015)

Before leaving our flat we had to take some pictures. We were on the 3rd floor.

This was our room.

The cute sign to let us know where the bathroom was:

The view from our room. So beautiful and quiet!

Just beautiful:

We only had a few hours this morning and we decided to spend them just walking around enjoying the beautiful sceanery.

We found the fish market!

One last gondola ride across the water. There was a bride getting on the one next to us.

We got our luggage and got on the train to Rome. This was a 3 1/2 hour train ride. Rome was different the Venice. We arrived at Roma Termini and it was a huge train station and we had heard that there are a lot of pick pocketers in Rome so we were extra cautious with our stuff. We strategically got hotels close to the train station so that we could just walk there. We got to our hotel room but we had no time to waste. We got settled and then we walked over to see Trevi Fountain. By this time we figured out that if it was possible it was just easier to walk places rather than try to find another mode of transportation. The fountain was under construction! Blah. Oh well we still got to see it just not with water.

Then we found a cute place to eat pizza. My looks like a salad? But they were both delicious!

Then we walked to the Spanish Steps. It was packed with people! We coudn't really even see the steps.

View from the top of the steps from the outside of a cathedral.

There is one thing that is for certain in Italy... there are always people walking around trying to sell you something! Here since it was night time they were trying to sell us some roses. We kept avoiding them and said no. A guy litterally came up to me and gave me some roses and said "I give to you" so I said fine and I took them. Well then he came after Casey asking him to pay him because he gave me flowers??? Seriously??? He wouldn't leave us alone so finally I just gave him his flowers back caue I didn't want them anyway! Aghh!!! Then he finally left us alone.

This was the tiny elevator going up to our room. So cute!

That was the end of this day. Total walking distance 9.2 miles.
